There are often adverts in Fire Risk Management, most of the industry even the so called big names relies almost entirely on the casual employment of associates on a day rate basis. You could try the FPA. It depends what you are looking for- opportunities may be greater if you set up your own consultancy business but it will be a rocky road for a couple of years until you become established.

Hi WG

It depends on what sort of role you are looking for. Part time? Full time? Assessor? Adviser? Trainer?

There are a some of the bigger consultancies out there who directly employ assessors / consultants, but they tend to be few and far between.

Instead most companies use self employed assessors on an adhoc basis.

Have you considered universities, hospitals and the like who tend to employ their own fire safety advisers? They are normally advertised in the local press or you could also try 'job centre plus' - they occassionally have a few intresting posts advertised.
