Haven't seen it anywhere else but learned this weekend that JP has died.  Many of us will know him from his time as a Firefighter at Stanstead, his time with the aerodrome inspectorate and most likely as a wonderful character, instructing at Serco/IFTC at Teeside.

Although he retired some 5 or 6 years ago JP maintained an interest in the fire world as many of us will know he had a collection of old appliances.  It was whilst returning from these vehicles and having enjoyed a pint in a local pub that JP collapsed and died.

Hopefully many of you out there will join me in raising a glass to JP.

Hi Stevie,

Only just read your thread.  JP was one of the few great characters I have met in Aviation Fire Service.  He was Senior Instructor on all my Low Cat JO courses and always went out of his way to help his students.  Mind you he could also bring them down a peg or two if they got a bit too big for their boots.  I'll join you in raising a glass to him.  He will be sorely missed by those fortunate to have known him.
