Post by: Sherpa on October 20, 2010, 05:35:24 PM
Gents

Am i correct in saying that under BS5839 A2 you can install fire alarm cables in pyro along side PA cables in FP200?....When i say along side they are to installed on the same traywork..

I always thought they could not be mixed, but now am been told otherwise.

thanks

Sherpa

MICC cable has it's own mechanical protection and is not likely to be damaged by other cables being installed in the same tray.
Not seen that part in A2 but that's not to say it there. Most jobs i have been on now have one tray for all ELV cables to be installed on.

To do what you say is fine with the only proviso that neither manufacturer says you shouldn't (for EMC reasons).

Farnham Castle at around 8pm.  Have hired a soul band (on the proviso they do as many rock songs as they know!). Be there or be square.
