  hi!
i'm thinking about transfering brigades at the moment and was wondering if there was anyone out there that had completed this process at Ff level that could give me ANY advice? what tests, drill, questions at interviews did you have to do/answer?
many thanks for your help-much appreciated!
Benny :D

benny, lots of people have transferred at firefighter level. its a good investment for the brigade that takes the already trained recruit. the questions should only be related to general 'stuff' so if youre reasonably on the ball they will take you, of course you will probably need to know about the brigade you want to transfer to etc, visiting before interview is always a good start, ask those you visit about current local topics and make sure youre on board with cfs and equality issues (which you should already be aware of anyway) its also good if you have extra qualifications or specialist skills.

it realy is a lot less daunting than doing it at higher levels, be yourself, be honest and do your homework on the 'lucky' brigade you choose!!

i transfered from gloucestershire into avon a couple of years ago, simply wrote in stating my interest in a transfer, completed the from they sent back then had a brief interview , the questions were mainly about what i felt i could offer the brigade , why they should chose me over the other applicants and my reason for wanting the transfer.
piece of cake.

although it must be stated that there was no practical eliment to the process, Avon were aware of Gloucestershires reputation as a school of exellence ;-)

Hi,

I am looking to transfer to follow along with my lovely partner down to wales. I am looking to see if South Wales or Avon would take transfers. Can anyone tell me reference either of these brigades. I know there are a couple of Avon personnel here, but any welsh amongst us. I have served in London prior to having to move upto Suffolk where i am now.
