Title: Door Security Communal Area Block Of Flats

Electromagnetic locking device on the exit from communal area.  Push button to release the magnet. 

1. In the event of a short circuit or earth fault, can these locks failsafe open?
2. If so, is a green break glass unit still a requirement?

Double pole green break glass unit should be provided.

Just seen this one K, why would you go for green break glass, just to comply with the BS? What is the risk of the door failing, stay put etc?

Heres one scenario Tadees. A single pole break glass unit has been installed. The insulation on the cable has been nicked and the conductor is in contact with the auminium door frame. When the glass is broken the single pole switch operates with the intention to break the circuit but the door fails to release as the current flows instead via the earthed door frame.
