Pressure testing of fixed extinguishing containers

Could someone please clarify what requirements are in place for the pressure testing of cylinders? I know that it depends on if there has been a discharge and that the intervals are different for CO2 and other agents but what I am told by my company and what other companies recommend are different.

It's changed for CO2 cylinders after british cylinder standards and regulations were replaced by euro ones a few years ago. In fact it's far simpler - no more "1st test 20 years from new unless no service history in which case 10 years; or if discharged between 10 & 20 years with full history must be tested before recharge; 2nd test 10 years; 3rd & subsequent tests 5 years"

it's simply - CO2 cylinders in fire extinguishing applications shall be pressure safety tested tested at 10 yearly intervals from the most recent stamped test date.

Don't know other types off the top of my head other than Breathing Air & Medical oxygen cylinders being 5 yearly intervals.
