hi
can any of you knowledgeable people (that includes you Graeme) and let me know of any suppliers of a training rig for portable extinguishers.
-
Yes,
http://www.kiddeft.com/ExtinguisherTrainer.shtml
http://www.envirofire.com/products/index.html
I would expect Envirofire’s products to be significantly cheaper than Kidde’s, and probably just as good quality, but if you want to develop something bespoke, then Kidde are probably the better company to talk to.

I work for kidde :D

Wish i could help alexl, i work in the FM200 side of kidde. Sorry

Alexl,
Peter pointed me in pretty much the same direction around 18 months ago.
Out of the two companies, only one could be bothered to call me back. Only one of these companies were able to provide me with a comprehensive price list. Only one of these companies were able to discuss their products in detail, the other could even put me through to the correct department or had anyone available to talk to me.
Needless to say I bought two sets of portable training units from Envirofire for around £1200 each and have to say they have been exyensivley used and continue to be used without problems.
When we bought them, one of their guys spent half a day training our chaps in the safe operation. Highly recommend Envirofire!!
Cheers Peter!!

Whats that all about then?
Although I must admit I'm thinking of getting one for my car as I think there's a kit for it??
Know anything about them Mr Millar
P

The kit is seemingly not legal here yet but you can get them easily.
Can't live without my I-Pod now.
Alex- could do to find it as a pay rise would be nice.
-
Graeme,
Sorry this is nothing to do with this thread, but, is there not a legal kit for an Audi?? I thought it was legal??
Any info you have would be welcome.

there is an official one but you need a cassette player in your car stereo.
There is one not endorsed by Apple which works by playing through a selected FM frequency on your car radio.
Not legal due to licensing i guess.
Alex-apologies for hijacking your thread Dear Chap.
-
Thanks Graeme,
My car doesn't have a cassette player so I gues I'm snookered.
Cheers
Paul,
Apologies also Alex.
-

try a google search for things like griffin and itrip
works very well in the car and the house- only prob in the car is finding a consistently quiet frequency on fm as you travel, as it transmits a very low power signal on fm you do need to keep retuning the itrip every 20 miles or so- or otherwise the ipod signal can suffer interference. And of course clear channels are few and far between on the top of hills
-
THanks for this Kurnal.
I'll give it a whirl.
-
it was the I trip i mentioned previously, the one not licensed in the UK yet.
-
i was on a trip once by myself, it was a i'trip aswell man!
