can any of you knowledgeable people (that includes you Graeme) and let me know of any suppliers of a training rig for portable extinguishers.

I would expect Envirofire’s products to be significantly cheaper than Kidde’s, and probably just as good quality, but if you want to develop something bespoke, then Kidde are probably the better company to talk to.

Peter pointed me in pretty much the same direction around 18 months ago.

Out of the two companies, only one could be bothered to call me back. Only one of these companies were able to provide me with a comprehensive price list. Only one of these companies were able to discuss their products in detail, the other could even put me through to the correct department or had anyone available to talk to me.

Needless to say I bought two sets of portable training units from Envirofire for around £1200 each and have to say they have been exyensivley used and continue to be used without problems.

When we bought them, one of their guys spent half a day training our chaps in the safe operation. Highly recommend Envirofire!!

The kit is seemingly not legal here yet but you can get them easily.
Can't live without my I-Pod now.

Alex- could do to find it as a pay rise would be nice.

there is an official one but you need a cassette player in your car stereo.
There is one not endorsed by Apple which works by playing through a selected FM frequency on your car radio.
Not legal due to licensing i guess.
