Elevated Helidecks

Hi can anyone please advise me on what training, and who can provide it would be required for an elevated helideck. My hospital is going to put an helideck on top of a five storey car park for use by the air ambulance.

I am aware that RFFS will need to be provided but just wondered what training they will require. None of the staff who will be working on the helideck have any previous fire fighting experience or training.

Go to www.petans.co.uk and ask to speak to a guy called John Simpson, the fire fighters at HEMS London used to train there but as they are employed by SERCO now use IFTC.

PETANS are based near NORWICH Airport and provide training for the offshore fire industry and as so have little or no restrictions when using JET A1 in fire exercises and can easily simulate a raised helideck with fixed installation fire fighting apparatus.
