Fire Shutters No Notice falling down
« on: February 28, 2012, 01:35:22 PM »
One of our fire shutters within a public building 'fell down' ie released during the week-end, our FM company believe it could be vandelism because the fusible link had been damaged, has anyone had any experience of this- we have a few more fitted and checking these at the moment.

These are normally extremely reliable.  You might be able to tell if it was vandalism by looking at the mechanism.  If the fusible link is the part that has separated then it is probably vandalism, there might be some soot marks on the link to show if a lighter has been used. They don't generally come apart for no reason.
