Writing a book
« on: November 25, 2008, 12:23:45 PM »

I am looking to write a book based around the borders between Turkey and Iraq/Kurdistan and the events surrounding Operation Safe Haven in 1991. I know some of you were part of the Fire Services team that went there under the banner of the ODA, as it was then. Do you have any reports, photo's etc of the time you were there? I am particularly interested in what the terrain, weather and conditions were like, what duties were carried out, involvement with which of the armed forces that were there and with other agencies, Fire Service, medical etc. If you have any memories/knowledge of the Cheshire teams venture over the Turkish border at that time that would be a bonus. The book will be a fictitious novel but based around actual events.

Any info you can e-mail me, through my profile, would be greatly appreciated. If the book gets written and published (???) :) you will of course be credited with the info in the book.

Thanks in anticipation.

Stay safe

Eric
