Conclusions of research on residential sprinkler systems

(1/1)

colin todd:
On 4 Feb 2004, as notified elsewhere on the bulletin boards, BSI are holding a seminar on HMO fire safety. One presentation by the ODPM will discuss the conclusions of the ODPM-sponsored research on the effectiveness of residential sprinkler systems. This should be fascinating stuff. Other speakers will talk about the new Housing Bill,  the applications of ADB to HMOs, and the practicalities of enforcement of fire safety legislation by EHOs.

Graham Blight:
Colin,
am I able to get the findings of this study? Myself and a college are very interested in attending the presentation as we have been charged with the responsibility of encouraging local councils to fit such systems.
regards

Graham,

I believe the findings will be published, but as yet they have only been spoken about a couple of weeks ago at a seminar, as they were hot from the press. The chap speaking about the subject at the BSI seminar will be Darren Hobbs, who will be able to give the gen stuff, as he works for the Building Regs part of the ODPM, on whose behalf BRE carried out the work. He is also a good speaker. If you want more info on this seminar, which will be held at BSI, Chiswick on 4 Feb, you can go to             www.bsi-global.com/Seminars/Fire/Safety.xalter. Or the agenda is at
www.bsi-global.com/Seminars/Fire/agenda.xalter. You can also talk to customer services at BSI on 0208 996 9001 or email them on cservices@bsi-global.com

I have noticed the above li.nks dont work if you go there direct. Dont know why because if you follow links on other BSi pages you get there and the URL is as shown. Try goimng to www.bsi-global.com/Seminars/Fire/index.xalter. If that doesnt work you will need to pick your way through links from the home page of BSI, which is www.bsi-global.com
