A serious fire has affected a number of buildings in Exeter - see https://www.dsfire.gov.uk/News/Newsdesk/IncidentDetail.cfm?IncidentID=38609&siteCategoryId=3&T1ID=26&T2ID=41 (https://www.dsfire.gov.uk/News/Newsdesk/IncidentDetail.cfm?IncidentID=38609&siteCategoryId=3&T1ID=26&T2ID=41). It started in the early hours of the 28th Oct, and spread to the adjacent Royal Clarence Hotel and other premises.

Seems to be some scaffolding on the front of the building. getting the builders in - always a risk!

The fire started in a building used as an art gallery and undergoing renovation work, hence the scaffolding - the fire started in the early hours of Friday and despite the best efforts of Devon and Somerset F&RS it spread to the adjacent hotel - there was also a couple of shops in the High Street behind the hotel affected.
Latest news yesterday from the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-37812333 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-37812333) This has some interesting interior shots from the police drone that has been used. There is no recent update on the F&RS website.

Thanks for posting that link. The full report should make interesting reading for those of us involved in heritage buildings!
