Dead End
« on: September 07, 2021, 04:13:49 PM »
Basic question...

Office corridor, MoE one end and at midway point, meaning there is a dead end of maybe 12 metres. Four of five offices along the dead end. The two remedies I understand however, do you extend the solution the full length of the corridor or just within the dead end area to the midway point MoE? So for example detection on all office along the full length of corridor or just offices in the dead end part of corridor?

Thanks,

You could use an 'L5' solution of just protecting the dead end, on the assumption there is no need for all the other rooms to need to be covered (e.g. as an alternative to a protected corridor on a multi occupancy floor)

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the reply.

So if it's a single occupancy, bog standard office corridor, only the dead end part of the corridor needs to be protected, not the whole corridor?

Thanks

Are there any sub dividing fire doors along the corridor or at the end of the dead end section?

Personally I's do the lot just to be on the safe side
