Title: Spec for medical gas pipelines.
Post by: Big A on July 25, 2008, 02:39:59 PM
During a visit to a hospital I noticed copper pipes run along a corridor. I was told these were for Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide and compressed air.
My question is: are these sort of pipes normally copper? Is there a specification?

Yip, degreased copper pipe is normally used. Special jointing techniques are used (not solder).

(Health Technical Memorandum) HTM 02-01 gives all the details
