The RRO will be laid for Second Scrutiny today and will appear on the usual websites in the next day or so.

Anyone on here been in the civil service and tried putting legislation through? I have - its the most painful process known to mankind and not helped by those who claim to but have no actual idea of all the processes involved. Some of the comments on here recently have been downright offensive toward the team involved in putting through a complex piece of law.

Remember, they are human. Some on here think they are not.

Mark - dont take things personally. But there is something more painful than putting legislation through and that is implementing legislation that has been poorly thought out.

The Order itself is not bad but producing the guidance has been a bit of a cock up.

Regulatory Reform Committee Report announcement

PUBLICATION OF REPORT

DRAFT REGULATORY REFORM (FIRE SAFETY) ORDER 2005

The Regulatory Reform Committee has recommended unanimously that this Draft Regulatory Reform Order should be approved.

The Committee will be publishing its report on the Government’s Draft Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 on 30 March.
