Title: Near miss fire durring an fire risk assessment.
Post by: Fire Monkey on August 15, 2017, 09:13:05 AM
I came across a near miss yesterday. Pan of water on a electric hob in a kitchen in a residential property - the hob was on full (by a responsible adult) but the pan was on the wrong hob so the heat was rising to the ceiling. Thankfully I noticed this in time and made it safe. It had not been like this for long as the ceiling above was not hot to the touch. This occurred whilst I was carrying out a FRA. I have seen the results of two fires cause by hobs been either left on or by having the pan on the wrong hob - in both cases the damage was significant (not buildings I am responsible for).
