Any CFS noticed a rise in number of householders calls re alarms giving low battery beeps in middle of night,
with start of cold nights ???

Forecasters are predicting some very cold temperatures according to the press.
As the beeping often stops  when ambient temperature rises, (once heatings on),
what advice do you give?

Get a new alarm or battery.

The low temperature/low battery warning effect does indicate that the battery is near the end of its life and should be changed anyway. One reason it's not a good idea to put a detector on a ceiling directly over a staircase but over any adjacent landing is the thought of a half-awake householder trying to silence it or change the battery at 4am!
