Qualified fire marshal/warden trainer
« on: February 28, 2012, 11:07:08 PM »
I have recently heard of some requests from building managers and occupants who have requested a "qualified fire marshal/warden trainer"

Can anyone please tell me what qualification is available ?  I would have thought on this subject a trainer may be competent as opposed to qualified, but I may be wrong.

Thanks

Off the top of my head I think a couple of companies offer trainer training in fire warden courses, it's another money spinner

There are two elements to this - the underpinning fire safety knowledge and the skills and techniques to put it over effectively- what we used to call methods of instruction.

There are several companies offering this if you look at the IFSM website and probably if you google. There are no formal qualifications as such as you suggest but some courses are accredited by the professional bodies.

If you would like to discuss this further feel free to email me. At least I can put you in touch with a couple of people who accredit courses on behalf of the professional bodies so they will point you in the right direction.
