Sir Ken's Landmark Decision
« on: September 12, 2010, 08:54:04 PM »
As indicated on the fire safety topic, people are beginning to forget about the good advice of that honourable gentleman, Sir Ken Knight, who advised that, in the case of one particular hotel (and, technically, only that hotel of course) heat detectors in the bedrooms satisfied the FSO and that a FRA to that effect was correct.

Just in case, here is the link:

Remember what is actually required is based on a risk assessment, but Sir Ken did say that, in the case of that hotel:

" I have concluded that, in this case, the use of heat detectors in the hotel bedroom provides a suitable technical solution to demonstrate compliance with the FSO, and I am advising the Secretary of State accordingly"

Remembered that this determination is for the subject premises only. This, for Sir Ken's and his supporter's benefit, you can be sure of.
