Lower category firefighters?

Leading on from the thread I started about the LCAS course, are there any lower category airport fire fighters reading this?

If so please let us know what your initial training consisted of? How long did it last, does your airfield have an understandable maintenance of competence scheme in place? Do you get formally assessed and debriefed? Is your training and assessment carried out by in-house staff or do outside contractors come in and do it? How much of your work is solely RFFS and do you engage in 'extraneous duties' as the CAA generically term being a low cat dogsbody.
