This one appeared without much publicity.  Is everyone aware of this new guidance?

those involved in producing such a guidance should be punished for not publicising it more widely!!

off to the tower!

its probably not well known in the 'fire' industry because the authors were keen that the process should be viewed as a home being shared with a vulnerable person, for the benefit of the person offered the placement as opposed to being a care home whcih its NOT! its a family unit! it want supposed to be inspected by the fire service etc. i did think that cfoa had sent a circular round - but then again not everyone would get one.

i think its pretty good, then again i know why id think like that!

18 months on does anyone have any experience of the standards in this document being accepted and used by the the enforcement agencies?

I particularly refer to the acceptance of pre 1988 furnishings subject to informing the family and the service user of the risks associated with the old PU foam filled furniture rather than consigning it to the skip where it belongs.

If ever there was a cynical exercise in political expediency this was it!
