Title: New small B&B Guide
Post by: Dinnertime Dave on November 17, 2008, 01:38:26 PM
I have it on good authority that the new Small B&B guide will be published tomorrow 18 November 2008. Don`t expect too much though, the copy I`ve seen only has about 20 pages.

If it is similiar to the draft leaflet it is good news for small businesses and hopefully will be the guidance used by all.

Just had the error message for the first time and have got the duplicate post syndrome, it feels exactly the same as the incorrect spelling syndrome.

Just spotted this article in a local Scottish newspaper today whilst searcing around,

http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/1013570

seems a bit odd and a misleading article to me, that " fire regulations are getting stronger in E & W but weaker in Scotland" whats happening down south?

Did someone say recently that this guide is being revamped or is there a recent publication which accepts solid doors as adequate for protection of escape routes in small B&Bs?
Short term memory fading slightly.

Hi Nearlythere

Is it not this guide that you refer to that makes mention of solid doors for the smaller B & B?
see under this question:-
How can I make sure everyone can get out of the premises

"Doors need to be strong enough to hold back smoke and fire long enough to give you time to escape. For small premises, a reasonably solid timber door that fits well into its frame is likely to be good enough"

Thanks Riccardo
Can't help thinking that there was something else posted which catagorised B&Bs more specifically by number of rooms.
Maybe I'm thinking about the guide for small premises.
