Title: Morroccan Earthquake
Post by: Welshbloke on March 01, 2004, 11:06:36 PM
This is an extract from a BBC report on the above earthquake:-

http://www.fire.org.uk/BBC_News/News2004/February/bbc250204i.htm

"Volunteers have worked through the night, but they are poorly trained and plainly under-equipped, often using their bare hands to clear rubble

They hope that today digging equipment and expertise will reach this inaccessible mountain region. "

Why no response from Britain?

It's not a site wide thing, the more mainstream topics still receive regular attention, your problem is this BBS is part of a mainstream Fire Site, not an SAR site, so many interested parties probably aren't aware of it

Obviously there was no request made at official level for assistance
