Title: beam detection
Post by: bevfs on September 24, 2018, 10:46:30 AM

hi all,
is it a stipulation from insurance companies that any specialist fire safety equipment i.e. beam detection (interlinked to the fire  alarm)must only be designed/installed by an accredited company for it to be accepted?

Ring one and find out  ;D

It would be best practice to as it provides better assurance. Is it a fire alarm company installing? Would expect them to be accredited to BAFE SP203-1 Scheme for example.

It seems to vary, some are quite strict others seem quite laid back!

until the unfortunate happens and the customer goes calling for financial recompense
hence the old insurance adage ,"if there's a way out of a payout" :(
