Title: Young persons
Post by: BB on March 27, 2022, 11:01:03 PM
Hi,
With regards to the reference of 'Young Persons' (YP) in the Fire Safety Order, does it only refer to YP who are going to be/or employed, or is it referring also to relevant young persons on the premises. i.e. resident?s in sheltered housing. In my humble opinion I believe its only employees, as the risk assessment will make suitable arrangements to ensure the safety of all relevant persons on or in the premises.
TIA  ;D

The reference is to young persons employed.

It originates from The Health and Safety (Young Persons) Regulations.

These regulations require employers to carry out an assessment of risk for young people at work.
