Risk Profile
« on: October 12, 2010, 10:25:40 AM »
We are looking into formulating a risk profile assessment on occupancy types during large events. For example, rock concerts, boxing ,childrens events and religious events etc. Is there a guidance document availale for use.
Regards

There are three general guidance documents that touch on fire (as well as everything else) that are considered 'bibles' for event safety:

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport Green Guide “Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds” used for stadiums used for sporting, particularly those requiring safety certificates

The HSE Purple Guide or 'Pop Code' "HSE Event Safety Guide" (currently being rewritten and watered down with several sections being moved to a separate industry guide jointly written by the Events Industry forum & HSE)

The Home Office "Good Practice Safety Guide" - a a guide to safety at small events and sporting events on the highway, on roads and in public places (i.e. anything too small to be covered by the Green Guide or Pop Code)

These contain further references to documents, links to sites and details of organisations for anything not covered in enough detail in their main text.
