HTM 0502 2015 - Bad Grammar Travel Distance

(1/1)

deaconj999:
Hi all,

Total Travel distance 3.34 a

Does [each of two] mean "either" or as in the rest of the various 0502 parts and the CLG guide "nearest"?

A quick response would be really appreciated as I am on a course and not sure the instructor's explanation that it means both is accurate.

Thanks in advance

Colin Newman:
Neither.  It means that from anywhere within the compartment an occupant must be able to reach at least two compartment exits within 60m.  Fir a compartment with only two exits this effectively means that the distance between those exits could not exceed 60m i.e. if you stand in the compartment with your back to one of the compartment exits, the travel distance to the other compartment exit must be no greater than 60m.

Thanks Colin
