I have a set of powered sliding doors that form part of the emergency escape route. Can anyone twll me what features I should have in place to ensure they are available at all times. My biggest concern comes from when there is a power fialyer and the doors are closed.
I would presume that a powerfailuer willl release the motor and handles on the doors allow them to be opened. Just thinking about it the PIR could fail and the door not open, in this case will a green call point to cut the power be suitable.

Break open doors are the best failsafe. sliding doors that become pivoting doors if given a good shove.

Cheers Brian
What about existing doors where cost is an issue.

most have a fire input that has a normally closed connection to the fire system, which opens on a fire condition.
