Title: Brigade Transfere
Post by: Paul on May 08, 2006, 08:37:51 PM
I’m sure someone will be able to help.

I have a friend who is about to undergo an assessment day for transfer into Greater Manchester from another authority.  Does anyone out there know what is involved.  Is it a drill session?  If so does anyone know what is expected? What is involved with the theory?

Any help out there would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not meaning to be cynical but, when someone is applying for a job why do they not just simply ask their potential employer what is involved / required for interview / recruitment ?  In this case if your friend is already in the job, looking for a cross move, twould they not have some idea?  On the forums there are many asking similar questions.  Just contact the employer and ask them.  From the horses mouth, from the organ grinder not the monkey, you get your answers.

Not meaning to be cynical either Mr P, but was that answer really necessary.  Do you not think that has already been done.  If you have nothing to say, then perhaps say nothing.  The reason for posting on a thread like this is not only to get information on a personal level but to share such information.

Again not meaning to be cynical.

Psmith.

I can help you out with what Tyne & Wear do for Inter Brigade Transfers if thats any help.

Bleep Test
Drill Session - Ladders, Pumps, Combination drills etc
BA Wear - Guideline & Free Search
Written Test - 10 short practical F/Fing questions

If you pass all that then you get to have an interview in the afternoon.

Dear fellow firefighters,

I am an Auckland firefighter and I have registered with the FF Exchange Program in Melbourne, Australia.
They have not managed to find a candidate in the south part of England who wants to exchange with New Zealand for one year.
My uncle lives in Bournemouth so I would like to be somewhere in the south if possible.

I came to NZ from Bristol in 1964 when I was 14yrs and I have worked here as a fireman for 37yrs.
We live in a three bedroom home on an 8 acre property overlooking Auckland City.

We cannot make the move till sometime in 2008 so there is plenty of time to register with the program.

If anyone is interested please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards, John.
