If a person has diet controled diabetes,does this stop them becoming retained?

No, I know of people with both diet and drug controlled diabetes, within the FRS

There is even a firefighter in Scotland with drug controlled Epilepsy

But did they suffer these conditions when they joined? Or did they develop after some years service? Getting in is one problem, and getting out ( as a whole timer)  is quite a different one.

I understand that certain medical conditions while being controlled are acceptable.  They include diabetes and some heart irregularities.
