Title: Defence F&RS Appliances

Does anybody know whether the Defence Fire and Rescue Service are changing their appliances from Volvo's to MANs. I just wondered because i've seen pictures of the appliances at Coulport and at Menwith Hill and both appliances were based on MAN Chassis.

I thought (and hoped) MAN were going to stop making fire appliances.... They look more like bread vans to me.

I don't know if its thier policy to buy them but alot of brigades now use them. I think they are the worse lorries I have ever driven. Poor quality, handle badly and look bad and as for the air suspension!

We have been told our Mann will soon be replaced with a brand new shiny Scania.
