To be fair to those involved, I think it best that we all avoid any speculation about this matter. Any such posts will be deleted.

Without making comment on the particulat cause of the incident, it's interesting to note that it's one of McGuirks new 'Fire Vans' that seems to have been involved. I wonder if this type of vehicle was properly trialed, or in the usual McGuirk fashion imposed with no choice?

The outcome of this sad episode but look how long its taken to resolve this matter. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2007/12/21/fireman-cleared-in-driving-tragedy-100252-20276294/

London member should really study and think before putting finger to keyboard. The brigade involved is MERSEYSIDE, not CHESHIRE FIRE & RESCUE. I'm sure he has a valid point about imposition rather than consultation but it is totally lost in this instance.
