Title: Residential Parks
Post by: Midland Retty on March 27, 2007, 04:29:11 PM
Hi folks wonder if I could pick your brains.

The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 does not specidfically include or mention mobile home and residential park sites as such.

What are your opinions - does a fire authroty have any level of jurisiction at such premises or in your opinion would the caravans / mobile homes all be classed as single domestic dwellings?

Thnaks - your help is appreciated

Recently instructed by a client  to risk assess a specific matter (apologies for sounding vague but there are legal implications) with regards to a residential mobile home site.

My colleague contacted the  Dept of Comms and Local Gov and was advised that it would be in the best interest of our client if we were to wait a month (thats a Government month) as such sites would come under the jurisdiction of the FA through the Fire Safety Order.   This would remove the current obstacle namely the local authority setting the site standards.
