Just checked a roof void fire barrier at a school today, plaster board no skim, looks like a set of cards all over the place as I.T. and LX over the years have knocked holes through for cabling! Expected I suppose.
What I don't understand is the complete lack of skim and sealing strips on the boards, no check?

Presumably it's the 'out of sight - out of mind' approach, Redone. In new-build roof spaces I've found incomplete barriers, barriers with doors that didn't close, AFD that you couldn't reach to service, exit routes completely obstructed by roof timbers, etc, etc.
