Hi Folks, Just Wondering If Anyone Has Any Info On The Covox Test As Run By West Midlands Fire Service As Part Of Their Medical ?

Nothing to worry about, we put you on a static bike with a mask that measures your expired breath - it is the 'gold standard' & a very acurate way of assessing overall fitness and how it can best be improved if necessary.

Thanks For The Info Amanda, Although The Term ' Gold Standard ' You Use Does Sound Rather Daunting. Can You Please Tell Me If There Is A Pass And Fail Mark For The Covox Test ? Or Is It Just Used As An Indicator Of A Candidates Fitness, Therfore Allowing Planning For Future Fitness Needs ?
I Have Passed The New Style National Firefighter Physical Tests On My Last 2 Attempts, But That Doesn't Mean To Say That I Am Fit Enough To Pass The Covox Test, Or Does It ?
