One of my crew mentioned to me the other day that there must have been a death in the service as his pay slip showed the deduction of a pound. How totally inadequate does that gesture seem this morning with the tragic news from Warwickshire.
My heartfelt sympathies to all concerned with this awful incident.

Terrible News
My sympathies to the FF's, their colleagues and the families.

Dreadful tragedy, my heart goes out to the families and crews.
This warehouse is occupied by a company with a history of fire incidents.

As a serving officer of 29 years my heart goes out to all members of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service

Words cannot express the sadness that we must all be feeling this morning. My sympathies go out to the families of the fallen. They truly cast the shadow of giants............!

As the secretary of the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund for the West Midlands area that includes Warwickshire, I was shocked and stunned last night when a collegue from Warwickshire rang with the news. We have already started to help our friends deal with the situation and will continue to support our lost friends families for many years
My thoughts and prayers go out to them and to some extent have an idea how they may feel having lost two collegues in Hereford some years ago.
Let us all help those that are suffering at this time and in the future. For those who may wish to leave thier messages of condolance I have no doubt that the F.S.N.B.F. will open a condolance page on thier web site very soon, check out www.fsnbf.org.uk

Words cannot express the depth of sympathy that goes out to all involved in this tragic event.
Its another reminder to all of us who are or have been in "the job" that but for the grace of God we could all be at the centre of similar events. Let us remember in our prayers and thoughts those who by fate were presented by this situation, who were forced by circumstance to make decisions and have to live with the dreadful outcome. My heart goes out to you all.

RRFSO???
Not the most appropriate time for that comment.
An awful loss. not just for the Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service but for the Fire and Rescue Service as a whole.
My deepest sympathies and thoughts go to those involved and their families at this time.

As a retained Firefighter in the North East of Scotland myself and fellow crew would like to wish the families and fellow collegues of our "Brothers" who gave their lives to doing something they loved our heartfelt sympathies and thoughts .

Redone - if you spent many happy years working at Stratford and with the crews from Alcester you should have known that the area is in Warwickshire? H&W it is not.
My heart goes out to the families and firends of those lost and to their colleagues. I have some good friends in Warks FRS and they are in my thoughts.

Our condolences to the families of the firefighters who perished. May they rest in peace.

The Fire Services National Benevolent Fund is collating condolences messages and will present these to the affected families and colleagues when appropriate. To leave your condolence message, email condolences@fsnbf.org.uk or go to http://www.fsnbf.org.uk/text.asp?PageId=256
Let us not argue or bicker but remember those that died, if I have upset anyone its because I too am upset and I apologise.

Ladies and Gents,
We seem to have a storm in teacup here. While I'm not generally in favour of moderating free speach and debate and while I have no objection at all to the debate on the RRFSO, as sign of respect, I will shortly delete all posts that are not simply messages of condolances. I trust site members will understand and respect that decision.
If you want to debate RRFSO, feel free, suggest you start another thread.

albeit this may be a valid discusion, this is not the time or place.

My deepest sympathies to all their family, friends and work colluegues.
may they rest in peace

Hello all, I have been reading your kind words about the firefighters lost at Atherstone on Stour on the 2 November. I thank you on behalf of my colleagues at Warwickshire Fire & Rescue. I was on the first appliance to arrive at the incident so feel I am able to do this. We are all going through the investigation stage which is not easy but we have very good teams from Oc health and trauma support who are brilliant as are the union. The USAR teams built us some staging at Stratford to shelter the hundreds of flower tributes that have been left at the station, passers by stop all the time and most have tears in their eyes. I try to be positive and hope that some good comes from the loss of Ian John Ashley and darren. Once again thank you.
