Hello,
My first post here. I'm 18 and looking at becoming a retained fireman when I looked at the Cambridgeshire fire service website, it states that my local station isn't a retained station, it says it is manned full time during the day only. However when I went for a run tonight past my local station I saw the guys out training at around 2030hrs. Could anyone shed some light on whether St.Neots fire station is partly a retained station at night as well?
Many thanks,

Copied from some website:
"St Neots Fire Station is crewed by wholetime (full time) firefighters Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Outside of these hours and at weekends, firefighters on the retained duty system are on call to crew the fire engines and respond to emergencies."
The firefighters training, may have been retained staff doing their weekly drill period.
Just go in and enquire, or telephone the station.

Cheers for that. I'll shall further my enquiry.

Give the station a ring or pop down next Wednesday. Drill nights usually start at 19.00. Good luck.
