i hope its allowed to post a topic on E/L's.
i hope someone can help? i currently maintain a 50v (Maintained) cbu with 4 circuits in use and about 10 fittings on each circuit, each fitting uses a 8w tube and the cabling is 1.5mm micc. The problem i've been having is that the tubes seem to burn out every 4 weeks approx and the load on each circuit is less than an amp. can anybody help explain this problem?

Are these small flourescent tubes with an inverter pack on each fitting or a 50 volt incandescent tubular bulb?
-
they are fluorecent tubes with 50v modules
-
Are the 50V ac/dc maintained lights contained within the same housing as general mains lighting? If so and both light sources are capable of being on at the same time then the temperature within the fitting is likely to be a factor in reducing your lamp life.

Is this a new system? Has this problem just recently begun occuring, or has it happened since the first installation.? Does it affect every fitting or just particular ones? have new fittings recently been installed?

Hi, I belive this has been happening for sometime 3+years approx it could have been since installation but site manager not been there that long. it effects every fitting aswell, i have limited infomation on the cbu as there are no manufacture's stamps on it. i'm begining to think its more of a problem with the cbu. is there any good books/manuals on cbu's around.

Have you measured the output voltage from the CBU?
