Dear all,
could anyone advise me if there any guidance documents available for fire evacuation in public buildings please or any buildings for that matter, any assistance would be much appreciated

From memory, one of the BS5588 series may be able to help you, not sure which one though (I've only really used the industrial premises one - can't remember exact title, but includes means of escape, signage etc)
