Title: Fire Fighting Lifts.
Post by: maghull on March 19, 2008, 03:05:11 PM
Iam installing a firefighting lift with a primary electrical supply and secondary generator supply.

But the client is asking for indication lamps to be mounted adjacent to the firefighting lift lobby.
which will say wether the primary electrical supply is on or if the standby power is on.

Has anyone else had to do this?

BS5588 part 5 does require this indication to be given adjacent to the firefighting lift switch and also duplicated in any fire control room. The indication must show which system is supplying the firefighting lift. This is particularly important where a generator supply is provided ads there is only a finite source of fuel. (usually 3 hours)

Sorry Maghull Cant help you there.  Should be a standard bit of kit though. If it isnt it would not be too difficult to set up using standard neon indicators?
