Title: Recording RA's and 'Licenced' premises.
Post by: Cheesysocks on March 31, 2008, 09:26:16 PM
Hi.

Article 9.6.b refers to licences.  I know I have seen a list of them somewhere, but I can't remember where!  Doh. Can anyone point out where the list of licences is in print please?

I have the order and the Offices and Shops books to hand. It's getting late and I think I'm going slowly blind! :)

Thanks.

Artivcle 42 states that a licence is anything that is licensed and that would include registrtaion and certfication as well.  Therefore premises licensed under the Licensing Act 2003, HMO's licensed by the local authority, scholls that are registered as well as OFsted premises, care homes that are certified and any manner of other premises.

Dont think there is an official list. You could add premises licensed to conduct marriages and civil ceremonies, caravan sites, boarding kennels, chemical and biological research establishments, slaughter houses, petrol stations HGV operators, users of chemicals and fertilers, explosives for a few more.

As Kurnal & Jokar correctly point out if any licence is in force the prescribed information must be recorded.

Now before Clevelandfire records the preventive & protective measures in his house because he has a tv licence.......remember that this only applies to premises to which the order applies.

What about a Fire Station with a TV licence?
What about a police station with a sniffer dog (dog licence)?
What about a shooting range with fire arms certificates?

Fire authority usually employs five or more, so not really an issue;
So do most police forces;
Shooting range probably yes such a certificate would in my opinion be a licence for the purposes of article 9.

I`m with you on this one I have seen a list of licences somewhere, I printed it off and now I`ve lost it. I have been looking since you first posted, sorry for being a complete twit.

If I find it in the next 7 years ( When I retire) I will post it. :)
