Is the Recruitment process for the above the same ? I've never seen any Airport Firefighters positions advertised and wondered if they recruit from Regular Fire Brigades. Im based in Scotland so would appreciate any relevant info or advice

Cheers

Hi Euan

Recruitment is similar, in that airport (BAA in my example - Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen)  have written exams, fitness tests and interviews. We get the around about the same number of applicants but generally recruit for a smaller pool of recruits (about 10). The only difference is that our exam is based on GCSE level maths and english, and we also have a Group Discussion phase too. With regards to the interview, the regular fire service use PQA's, we use Airport Fire Service competencies.

BAA advertise in local press and at www.baa.com. You can also join a mailing list on that site and be informed as and when recruitment is due to start up.
