I am only new here but whats ironic is that there are numerous adverts from all and sundry. Maybe you haven't seen them and obviously the forum has it's rules but is it such a big deal?

I can only think that maybe it's newcomers who are not allowed to advertise!

there are site sponsors adverts and each member is allowed a link to their website along side their name and email.

But as far as I know that is as far as it goes or have I missed something?

I think it unfair to refer to sell your own services or products  through the advice forums but if somone has a problem and there is a specific product out there that will fix it then in my view it is ok to point them to that product?

IF you want to advertise, ask myself or the site owner.  I try to delete all adverts, but I am only 1 person and I may miss some.  The same rules apply to everyone.  Sponsors at the top pay to advertise.  The probably would be less inclined to do so if we allowed free adverts and the site would quickly be overrun with adverts for hotels, viagra, and other websites, which are removed frequently.

I agree. Just in case you didn't realise. It wasn't me who was advertising.

I just thought it was an innocuous advert that was Forum related and I have seen plenty of similiar adverts which I were just as innocuous and left untouched by a moderator.

I suppose what you could do is have another forum just for industry related jobs. Maybe you could charge for adverts. Another revenue stream.

Do I get commission?

There is only 1 set of rules and they apply to everyone.  There is a "report" function on FireNet so you can bring adverts to my attention.
