Title: Fire door seals

I have been trying to purchase fire door seals (the ones that are similar to zip ties) but I am having trouble locating a supplier that sells ones with a length of 350mm and with break strength of 10-11kg and these must have a printed serial number on them also. Please could you advise if you know of any suppliers that I may be able to get these from?

They look a little bit like the picture i have attached, the twisted bit is normally flat.
I received this enquiry today and I am at a complete loss does anybody recognise what it is. I am still trying to get more information.

A thought has occurred to me (it doesn’t happen very often) could it be for securing panic bars I have seen them in supermarkets? If so do you know of a supplier?

They can be used to secure fire exits, or on fire extinguishers etc.

Try http://www.seton.co.uk/

e.g. http://www.seton.co.uk/setoneurope/product/0/20/POLY-BL.html

The seal in your picture looks like a tamper seal for fire extingiuishers and these are notoroiusly fragile so if you breathe on them they break and you have to recommend the extinguisher be serviced. Particularly brittle in cold condtions.

Take a look at Safelincs- you will find exactly what you are looking for - try a google for security door seals. Whilst safelincs have them for £2.99 for 10 retail, they come much cheaper in bulk. I bought some not long ago by google search- I got 1000 for £100 and you get log sheets and unique serial numbers on each seal.

Thanks to you all I am sure this is what she wants. At first I thought she was after intumescent, smoke or acoustic seals.
