Title: Is there a multi sensor smoke alarm on the market yet?
Post by: kurnal on July 15, 2008, 09:08:41 PM
I asked this a couple of years ago- but will try again in the hope of progress- is anyone aware of a multi sensor domestic smoke alarm - eg CO and smoke or smoke and heat combined?

AICO are now (or will be shortly) producing a optical/heat multisensor for the domestic market.

Yes thanks Graeme I found it thanks to wormholes plug. (no pun intended)

The information on the aico website does not tell me whether the smoke and heat sensors work in concert or independently- the website points out the benefits in terms of immunity to generating unwanted signals ( implying an algorithm and relationship between heat and smoke) but then guarantees the earliest detection of a wide range of fire situations which may mean working independently.  I may call the tech dep-artment tomorrow and ask them.
