I'm after about 4 or so KAC break glass call points of the old type (i.e. not the new ones with the drop down front) that are going spare after being removed from somewhere having a new system.
Strange request - yes, but a charity premises needs to have MCP's on it's fire alarm system. They already have EI Electronics interlinked smoke alarms and according to EI the old style KAC MCP can be easily wired into the interlink cabling and provide a manual activation of each alarms sounder. I have a wiring diagram from them for the old KAC MCPs.
I'm begging them from anyone who has some from a rip out as the charity is on a limited budget and already has a lot of other expenditure on fire doors & EL to try and sort and even though a few call points wouldn't cost too much every penny counts (They've gpt someone to install stuff for free, just after parts).
Before anyone starts the old 'pt6 systems in non residential' debate, it's a risk assessed solution and should be OK - however if anyone wants to give away a load of functional Pt 1 components they've removed then that would be better still.
The charity has various buildings that escaped fire regs pre RRO and after FRAs is having a lot of catching up to do and it would be nice if loads of fire alarm kit and 8W emergency lights would 'fall from the sky' and I'm trying to help them out as much as possible.
It would be nice to sort this one out for them as at other premises they've got no option but for a full install of a Pt 1 system

We skip loads of equipment from upgrades. Send me a list of what you want and we will build you a kit up over the next few weeks/ months. We are only in Leeds and regularly have engineers in Sheffield who can drop it off. We will find you some callpoints.

Yes please!
To return the favour if anyone wants extinguishers I sometimes have a few around with a good service life left that I can service & tag up for worthy causes, I sometimes clear unwanted extinguishers on a visit but only actually use certain ones (mainly for training or if not too old as freebies for local charities etc)
If anyone comes across a couple of old stainless steel finish 6l Amerex or Abtex/Moyne (around in the early 90's, used Badger stuff from the US) in fair condition, please let me know.
Perhaps a seperate sale/wants/swaps section for odds and ends (i.e. no commercial stuff for your company as a whole) could be of use?

Ive got a couple kicking about. Cylinders and valves are in ok nick, gauges were swapped with a couple of gloria ones a while back as the amerex ones were stuck in the green. Ones got an AFFF label, the other is plain S/S. (They've been used a fair bit on firework displays and had a regular filling / emptying) Your welcome to them, postage may be expensive though ?

I gather you are not local to me then!
I do travel a bit with work so a better location would be helpful.

Don't do much that way as we have someone based in the London area, but they could get it & bring it up here as he comes up once a month for office meetings
