Guys any one have ever used the German 'detectomat wireless fire alarm system' see the link below

I have heard a lot about this system over recent months.
It actually uses conventional detectors with a transmitter module built in allocating it an address only at the control panel, no text, nor does it provide analogue values. Restricted to what it can do cause and effect wise and limit to the amount of devices if you run it as a radio system only.
All reports I have had back so far have been negative, regarding setting up reliability etc.
You basically get what you pay for !!

quote from page
I confess to
being sceptical at first because the quote for
the system was so much lower than others I
received,
No wonder..................
-
I note that no claims are made about compliance with British Standard 5839 or EN54......
-
and it was installed by Argos..

I've had a gander at the Detectomat site and they have a reasonable history (coming from Minimax in Germany) so I don't think reliability would be an issue.
However as Chris has pointed out,it is strange that no mention is made of 5839/EN54 on the radio stuff when all the rest of their products meet them.
Strange one.

Also, 'detectomat ...' is advertised in one of the latest UKs magazines, I have just received... !!!!!!!!

I'm sure I spoke to their UK rep a while ago and their view was that fire systems were now installed subject to risk assessment.... therefore you may conclude that a system may be installed not complying to 5839....!!??
I didn't bother inviting the rep round for coffee........
