Ridiculous , how is the postman going to find this flat so he can deliver the fine from the people who brought this matter up in the first place.
-
How silly!! "elf and safety" gone mad again.
-
Can't have a postman Galeon cos he will cause a fire hazard with the letters!!!
-
Even more reason for extinguishers in common areas to put out the fires caused by letters and door numbers??? Oops what have i said!
-
Back away from the fire extinguishers Martin !!!

This is just mad they should have treated the door numbers with a suitable FR coatings along with the door mats or provided small FR lobbies around each flat door! Easy!
-
Just Kidding MR just kidding!!

Should these people be locked in the Hadron Collider to disappear down the black hole?

What about a powered smoke extraction system covering every door number? Coupled with a drencher system, that should solve the problem. Should only cost around £20,000 per door.
