Title: upgrading fire doors

is it ok to line none FD so they are FD30, along with adding door closers and intermescent seals etc. this seems to happen alot in universities accomadation

It is so long as it is a method which can be certified.

Yes it can be- provided the work is done to a tested and approved specification. BM TRADA, English Heritage, Sealmaster and Envirograph have produced specs for door upgrade systems and had samples tested to BS476.

Have also sourced a paint/varnish based product which can upgrade.
